Response to "the applecrab cab company"
Dear Sir/Madam,
After a horror-like taxi-ride with one of your so-called drivers in and around Geneva (and actually most of Northeastern France) on the night of March 1st 2006, I would like to point out a few things.
First of all, I had to run around at Geneva airport for 30 minutes to find the driver. Already this is unacceptable. He should find me, not the other way around.
Secondly, the driver started complaining about having to wait for me, his taxameter already ticking at 75 SFR when i finally found him. Do you honestly think I would book a taxi to pick me up at the airport at a certain point in time if I knew he would start charging med before I found him? This, again, is not acceptable!
Thirdly, he didn’t speak a word of English, German, Gujerati or any other language that we understood. This is the year 2006 for god’s sake! At an international airport, there will be always be customers who do not speak French.
Fourth, his driving. He managed to disregard at least three red lights at traffic signals on our way through Geneva, once very near causing a traffic accident at a roundabout. We are four adults prepared to witness about this even in a French or Swiss court of law. Or Polish for that matter, lets not get judgemental here.
Fifth, we would like to ask, why in god’s name he didn’t take the motorway? When customers come on a flight to Geneva in the evening, heading for the alps, he should have understood, that time was crucial.
Sixth, at an intersection about 20 minutes driving from Geneva I see a diversion sign towards our destination. I pointed this out to the driver, but he didn’t care, headed on towards a village approximately 7 kms from our final destination, where finally, he understood that the road was closed. (every taxi driver in the area seemed to know about the diversion but him, but maybe he didnt have access to tv, radio or newspapers).
Then we had to go ALL THE WAY BACK TO GENEVA!!! With this absurdly long deviation we very nearly were too late to pick up the keys for the apartment at a hotel at our destination. Instead of about one hour’s driving, the ride took us more than two and a half hours!
The final taxameter standing was 632 SFR. We are determined, that this is none of our responsibilities. Your driver was the most amateur-like we have ever encountered, including my own 97 years old grandma.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT THAT YOUR DRIVER TOOK US ALL THE WAY AROUND NORTH-EASTERN FRANCE TO COME TO OUR DESTINATION! THUS; HE SHOULD PAY THE BILL HIMSELF.
Should you disregard our points of view on this matter, we will not hesitate to press judicial charges with respect to the deviations and the traffic law violations.
Again, we are four adults who will witness about this in any judicial instance that may be at hand.
PS As I hadn’t made a proper booking with your company, and only a price request, how do you explain your driver coming to pick us up? I am quite sure, that the company that we did use to make the booking would like to know too.
Best regards,
